Turkey dropped nine places to 56th place in the Climate Change Performance Index in 2024. Thus, Türkiye was classified among the "very low performing" countries. The report evaluates the climate performance of 63 countries, which are responsible for 90% of the world's greenhouse gases. DETAIL
Examining 7,827 people and their home environments, the researchers found those living in areas filled with more parks, gardens, trees, and other vegetation had longer telomeres – a region in DNA sequences associated with longevity. In a new study published in the journal Nature Medicine, researchers at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Center in Australia found that when divarasib is combined with another cancer treatment called cetuximab, 62 percent of patients with tumors caused by a mutation in the KRAS gene experienced a positive outcome, which means that their tumors were either completely eradicated or reduced in size. A group of researchers from New York University have developed DNA-based nanobots that can theoretically replicate themselves exponentially. The tiny DNA robots developed consist of only four DNA strands and can copy themselves one at a time, using their structure as a template. A team of researchers from South Korean battery manufacturer LG Energy Solution and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) has made progress in the development of lithium metal batteries - using a borate-pyran-based liquid electrolyte. To put this into context: in lithium metal batteries, the graphite-based anode material is replaced by lithium metal, which reduces the weight and volume of the anode and improves the charging and discharging efficiency.
